Trouble don’t last always, but it does seem to linger around. So what are we going to do about it?
I watched the GOP Debate last night and my brain kicked into overdrive. Politics completely aside, things in this nation are all jacked up. From the job loss, to the divisive, ineffective politicking, to the “scandals.” It all needs work! Listening to the candidates, I couldn’t help but feel this sense of trouble. Trouble all around. It made me think of what Jesus said in John 16:33. He said, “… In the world ye shall have tribulation.” Or, to translate… “Things are going to be all jacked up in the world!”
Ha! Isn’t that something? Jesus, telling his disciples that they are not exempt to trouble.
… and that made me think of Matthew 7:24-27. That’s what the video is about. So check it out. By the way, we make history here in the Candid Christianity Commons. This is the first post of a new category… “About Scripture.” Expect more from this space periodically!
Matthew 7:24-27 ,KJV
Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
